October Mood Board - Cognac & Charcoal
Updated: Oct 8, 2018
So, what inspired our mood board this month? The neutral shades of fall found around the world right now. Cognac, charcoal, and even a bit of greige is filling my fall wardrobe in the form of oversized sweaters and booties, and filling all my home decor Pinterest boards with cozy leather sofas and textured dishware. These colors, to us, are accessible, easy to blend, comfortable, and feel modern without being trendy.
If we worked these into a wedding design I'd start with a thick grey table linen and layer handmade dishware in shades of brown. With florals filled with dry lunaria and lush quicksand roses we'd design complimentary, modern centerpieces and bouquets wrapped in charcoal silk ribbon. This color story works perfectly for the modern couple looking to wear modern silhouettes on their wedding day; the bridal party can be clothed in a gorgeous shade range of greige to stone to cognac. Minimalist stationery letterpressed on heavy recycled paper and place cards designed on camel leather will tie together the overall vibe. Industrial meets handcrafted quality with hints of nature in this design to blend the best of all of these elements in a cohesive way.
As I type this, I'm wearing my favorite merino wool charcoal sweater; grey is just simply comfortable to me. Leave a comment and let me know your go-to wardrobe staple for fall. Are you living in leggings, an oversized sweater, or dresses with tights? Sound off below!
