Romantic Beach Inspiration at Enoshima Island
Updated: Jul 20, 2018
After living in Eastern Japan for the last three years, I can honestly say this area is filled with inspiration. This shoot, captured by Kristine Marie Photography, took place on Enoshima Island in Fujisawa, Japan. We were inspired by a meld of Japanese and American cultures and the wedding traditions that go along with both. Details including Kintsugi, the Japanese technique of mending broken pottery with gold and Shuugi Bukuro, the traditional wedding card in Japan were shot alongside American-style aspects including the couple's wardrobe and wedding bands.
Our real couple, Marvin and Kaori, fit our shoot perfectly. Marvin, an active duty sailor in the United States Navy from Southern California, met Kaori, a Japanese citizen from Yokohama, Japan, one year ago and blended their families and lives together.
We are completely smitten with this soft color palette, velvet linens, and romantic tablescape as well as our sweet couple.
