On the Fringe

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that I have been in central Texas for the last few weeks before my husband and I officially move to Seattle. As a wedding planner and stylist, I love executing my clients' visions, but sometimes I fall in love with an original design and that's exactly what happened here. Several months ago I put together a mood board that this shoot was inspired by, and I have been dying to make it happen ever since. Finally, we teamed up with one of my best friends: Jamie Lee Photography, my sister, a talented local florist, and an up and coming calligrapher to make it all happen.

Combining modern minimalism, with authentically vintage details, this shoot is truly, "on the fringe" of being contemporary or retro. Captured in the photographs you'll find our bride in a modern fit gown with vintage-style lace. Our groom with a vintage tie clip (one that I found at a thrift shop in Yamato, Japan), and heirloom pin attaching his boutonniere. We nod to 2018 with a minimalist fringe backdrop, modern invitation suite, and gold-leafed cake. All serving as proof that you can mix your favorite classic and vintage pieces into your modern romantic wedding day.
